There has been more Arsenal transfer talk today as Italian newspaper ‘Gazzetta Dello Sport’ claims that the Gunners have found a new target in the format of Argentine striker Mauro Icardi.
The player started out at the Barcelona academy but has been playing football in Italy for the last four years; first with Sampdoria and now captaining Inter Milan.
However it looks like Inter Milan won’t be willing to sell the player as things stand and that the player is currently seeking a new deal. This might be the reason he’s been linked with other clubs to bolster his current contract negotiations and that the stories have just been planted in the press.
Most of the talk has come from Icardi’s wife who has said there are many offers for the player, and that Arsenal are one of the many clubs who have made contact with the player. The list of clubs that have made contact also include Atletico Madrid and Tottenham.
