The Chilean forward says the weekends North London derby will be an intense match and that the Gunners need to be alert to Tottenham’s counter attacking style of play.
Arsenal are three points higher than their North London rivals, however Tottenham are yet to lose a game in the Premier League this season. It looks like it will also be hard for the likes of Sanchez to break down Spurs defence, with their team having the best defensive record in the Premier League.
“It’s going to have everything.
“It’ll be a high-intensity match with plenty of hustle and bustle. I’ve played them a few times now and the first time I didn’t know what to expect.
“They told me I had to start strong, and I remember I got taken out early on but then told myself that wouldn’t happen again.
“We like to dominate possession and pass the ball around, but we’ll have to be wise to the counter-attack [on Sunday].”
“It’s a game that they [the fans] want to see us win at all costs,” he added. “They’re a massive rival. My team-mates and I will leave everything on the pitch.
“The Arsenal fans are amazing supporters and that really helps me to perform well and want to give them something to celebrate.”
Alexis has been superb this season, adapting to his new role as the centre forward, scoring eight goals in the process. This has contributed to the Gunner’s great start; currently level on top of both the Premier League and their Champions’ League group.
He also had some positive words to say about his team mates:
“More than the goals [against Sunderland], I was happy for my team-mates,” he told Arsenal Player.
