Arsenal 2 – Manchester City 2: Player Ratings

posted in: Player Ratings | 0

Well at least we didn’t lose, if you asked me before the game whether I’d take a draw, I’d have jumped at the opportunity.

David Ospina – 7

Made some big saves, but he should have probably got down quicker for the Aguero goal.

Hector Bellerin – 6
Sane got the better of him quite a few times, nevertheless, he played well when we went forward and tried to hit City on the counter attack.

Shkodran Mustafi – 8
Managed to get his second goal for Arsenal, and commanded the back well when Koscielny had to go off.

Laurent Koscielny – 6.5

Very solid at the back, but he only managed to play half of the match before an Achilles problem forced him off the pitch.

Nacho Monreal – 7.5
I still think he’s one of our most consistent players, very solid performance as always. However, he was lucky to get away with the handball at the end.

Francis Coquelin – 6.5
Still don’t think he’s up to the standards of Arsenal, though had a fairly good game and managed to stay disciplined after he received a yellow.

Granit Xhaka – 6.5
Managed to build up the play well, even though we know that him and Coquelin don’t really work together. Alo didn’t get sent off also after seeing an early yellow, miracle.

Theo Walcott  – 7
Managed to get the goal for Arsenal to equalise, however that challenge before it was something. Whether he should have still been on the pitch is to be contested.

Mesut Ozil – 7.5

Got the assist for the goal, but was at fault for the Aguero goal, looked absolutely knackered towards the end of the half.

Danny Welbeck – 6.5
Didn’t get much service, but he was all over the pitch which is good to see. Still working his way back after that long spell on the sideline.

Alexis Sanchez  – 8
Whenever he got the ball it looked like something was going to happen. But saying that he only managed one shot all game, which went wide.

Gabriel – 7
Olivier Giroud – 6
Alex Iwobi – 6.5
