The manager decided not to go with four at the back which we thought he would, but instead opted to stick with the three once again. Alexis started on the bench which was a surprise for many and Ozil was also out of the game, so many Arsenal fans didn’t have high hopes for this one.
The Gunners took a while to get in with the game but after fifteen minutes it looked like Wenger’s team could score at any point, though after a few missed chances the team went into the break at 0-0. Alexis came on for Lacazette in the 65th minute, which left a bit of confusion as the Chilean went up top.
Only a few minutes later Danny Welbeck picked up an injury which meant Giroud had to come on in his place, with Alexis going back to his normal position. Chelsea managed a few chances on goal with the Gunners yet to have a shot in the second half when Elneny came on for Iwobi, to try and give Ramsey some more freedom.
With only three minutes of normal time left, David Luiz decided to put in a malicious foul on Kolasinac which led to a straight red. This led to a last-minute surge for the Gunners to try and wrap up all three points, with both teams end to end till the final whistle.
