Competition: Premier League
Arsenal host West Brom this evening in the Premier League, after a positive result at Stamford Bridge, the Gunners will be hoping to build on that and gain all three points tonight. It’s a busy week for Arsene Wenger and his team as they play again on Thursday in the Europa League and then Sunday in the Premier League.
It’s likely that the manager will pick the strongest team possible for tonight and then use Thursday’s match to rotate ahead of Sunday’s clash against Brighton. In terms of team news, Ozil was in training this week after missing the match against Chelsea, which should mean he’ll start. That is likely to be the same case with Alexis who only made the bench against Chelsea last weekend.
With all our key players back and fit, this could be the first time we get to see the trio of Alexandre Lacazette, Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez. Although that sounds like one hell of an attacking force on paper, it’ll be interesting how well they link up together.
With West Brom one of the most disciplined sides we’ll face this season under Tony Pulis, it’ll be even harder to be clinical in the final third, something of which we’ve been lacking so far. Hopefully, with a front three full of pace and skill, we might be able to crack them in the first half and push on from there.
Elsewhere on the pitch, it’s likely to be that the Ramsey and Xhaka partnership continues, with Wenger finally finding a midfield combination that seems to work well. It may be a bit of a defensive liability, but with such opponents as West Brom, the manager wouldn’t be as worried as he would have been against Chelsea.
The back six picks itself with Cech, Koscielny, Mustafi, Monreal, Bellerin, Kolasinac most likely to start. With a lineup like this, we should easily have the ability to overturn West Brom. So let us know below what you think the score will be below:
