BATE Borisov 2 – Arsenal 4: Player Ratings

posted in: Player Ratings | 0

Arsenal got off to a flying start in the group game. Theo Walcott managed to grab the opener, with Jack Wilshere playing a sublime ball into the Englishman, who was starting to look back to his best!

The Gunners managed to make it two not long after, the opposition goalkeeper gifted a pass straight to Walcott’s feet which he made sure he couldn’t miss, slotting it into the corner of the net.

If you thought it couldn’t get any better for the team from North London they found themselves 3-0 up in 25 minutes. Rob Holding managed to head in the third from a corner, which will certainly give the young player some confidence, something of which he’s been lacking recently.

Borisov got one back only two minutes after a good cross, which Elneny really should have defended better. Arsenal started looking shaky at the back but managed to go into halftime at 3-1.

After the second half started again, the Gunners managed to get a soft penalty which converted for his 100th goal for the club to make it 4-1. Arsenal conceded again in the 66th minute after some poor defending, bringing Borisov back into the game.

Although Wenger’s side should have had the game wrapped up in the first half, it’s still three points from quite an inexperienced team.Let us know how you think each player played in the below:
