After the midweek cup win, it was a fully rotated side that Arsenal played, similar to the one that beat Everton in the league match. Arsenal fans were treated to the front three of Alexis, Ozil and Lacazette once again, with the trio playing sublimely last time they were put on a pitch together. In behind the three were Ramsey and Xhaka, with wingbacks Bellerin and Kolasinac. The back three consisted of Koscielny, Mertesacker and Monreal, with Cech in goal.
Arsenal started the better of the two sides but it was the Welsh side who took the lead in the 22nd minute. The Swans hit Wenger’s side on the break, with Abraham slotting it through the legs of the Arsenal keeper.
Jordan Ayew had a great chance to put Swansea 2-0 up, but the Gunners managed to go into the half with only a 1-0 deficit. The manager sent his side out early after their team talk with the intention of rallying the troops. It seemed to work as Arsenal’s summer signing, Sead Kolasinac scored with a great finish, slotting it in the bottom right corner.
Arsenal managed to take the lead in the 58th minute when goalscorer turned provider, Kolasinac, assisted Aaron Ramsey to finish the Arsenal move off. The Bosnian came off soon after due to an injury problem, with Rob Holding coming on to take his place.
One French striker was replaced for another with Olivier Giroud coming on for Lacazette, with the intention to see the game through to the final whistle, which Arsenal managed. The Gunners now face a European tie midweek, with the main focus being on next weekends league game away to league leaders Manchester City.
