Arsenal will be hoping to bounce back after their defeat to Manchester City last weekend. However, it’s not going to get any easier with the Gunners travelling to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea this evening.
Cech starts in goal again for the Gunners, even after a few mistakes in the previous match. It’s interesting to watch the 36-year-old try and adapt to play the ball out from the back, which almost resulted in an own goal last weekend. Leno obviously hasn’t done enough in training to warrant a first team place yet. Bellerin starts on the right-hand side, with Monreal coming back into the team after injury. Although Lichtsteiner was impressive when he came on into the left-back position, it’s a lot more reassuring having Monreal in the role.
Sokratis and Mustafi start as the pairing centre-backs with Guendouzi and Xhaka in front. Guendouzi was impressive in his last game, but Xhaka not so much. It’ll be interesting to see when Torreira will get his chance in the side. Ozil, Mkhitaryan and Iwobi will start behind Aubameyang, which will disappoint many as the Aubameyang/Lacazette partnership was impressive when the Frenchman came onto the pitch against Manchester City.
Chelsea will be an easier opponent than City, though that doesn’t guarantee Arsenal will manage to pick up one point, never mind three!
