Arsenal continued their winning ways, but it wasn’t without its drama. However, Alexandre Lacazette gave Arsenal all three points to take into the international break.
Petr Cech: 3/10
Made a huge mistake within the first 10 minutes, thankfully that one didn’t result in a goal. Conceded two after that, and did nothing to redeem himself.
Hector Bellerin: 6/10
Vital to our attacking play, but just doesn’t bring that solidarity in defence. Looked vulnerable all game.
Shkodran Mustafi: 6/10
Scored the opening goal with a strong header, but the rest of his performance didn’t meet the required standard. Shipped two goals, but could have been worse.
Just like Mustafi, his performance was underwhelming. In parts, his game showed promise of what he can do, but concentration flutters and mistakes occur far too often.
Nacho Monreal: 5/10
Nacho had one of his off days today. Despite scoring last weekend, he was coy in attack and was partly at fault for one of Cardiff’s goals.
Granit Xhaka: 6/10
I like Xhaka as a player, but he struggles to reach the heights the Arsenal fans expect from him. Maybe they’re set too high, but he recycles the ball very well and keeps Arsenal ticking over in midfield. Good assist, but could be blamed for one of the Cardiff goals.
Matteo Guendouzi: 6/10
Strong, confident on the ball, but still has a lot to learn. He did make some errors, but he never hid and drove the Arsenal team forward whenever he could.
Aaron Ramsey: 7/10
Typical Ramsey performance, always running and always trying to link the defence and attack together. Not an outstanding Ramsey game, but solid nonetheless.
Mesut Ozil: 7/10
Was fairly non-existent in the first half, but in the second half, he really grew into the game. Combined with Lacazette and Aubameyang well and created some good opportunities.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang: 8/10
Finally notched his first goal of the season. Taken really well. Constantly a threat with his runs and the partnership with Lacazette is starting to come to the forefront.
Alexandre Lacazette: 9/10
My Man of the Match and I think most people’s as well. Really commanding up top and scored a fantastic goal to give Arsenal the victory. He was a part of every Arsenal attack.
Lucas Torreira: 7/10
Brought on as soon as Cardiff got their second, and straight away he plugged a gap in the Arsenal defence. He furthered his already strong claim to be a regular in the starting eleven.
Daniel Welbeck: 5/10
Came on to replace some tired Ozil legs. Always shows willing, but doesn’t always come off.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan: N/A
Not enough time to warrant a rating.
