Campbell set for Valencia move
The Spanish outlet ‘Marca‘ have recently reported that Joel Campbell is set to move back to Spain, with Valencia ready to sign the Costa Rican on a permanent deal.
Campbell made a number of first team appearances last season, scoring four goals in 31 appearances. However he lost his place towards the end of the season as Alex Iwobi began to emerge.
The attacking midfielder has never managed to secure a first team place at Arsenal and has been loaned out to multiple clubs before returning to the club in 2014. He has already played at Spanish clubs Real Betis and Villarreal, with Valencia set to be the third.
Joel Campbell is contracted with the Gunners until 2018, meaning hopefully Arsenal would be able to get a reasonable fee for the player. It’s been a quiet season for Arsenal so far, with Granit Xhaka being the only player coming into the club.
