What a way to bounce back from last weekend’s defeat against Spurs, this now gives us a chance at a place in the top four. So here are the Arsenal player ratings for the match:
Petr Cech – 7
Made two great saves in the first half, both from Rooney, one at his near post and the other when he had to recover from Holding’s awful mistake. However, he didn’t have too much to do in the second half.
Holding – 7
Made an awful mistake in the first half with his back pass that found Rooney, could have been a different game if he scored. Though he looked a lot more comfortable in the second half, glad he’s come back into the side.
Laurent Koscielny – 7
He played the best out of our back three and had a solid performance as always. We’re a completely different side when we’re blessed with his presence at the back.
Nacho Monreal – 6.5
He does suit this left centre back role, though he didn’t have much to do all game.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – 8
Managed to get both assists for the goals, the ball into Danny Welbeck for the second goal was sensational! He looked threatening throughout the game.
Aaron Ramsey – 7
He moved well throughout the game, it’s certainly been his best performances we’ve seen in a long time. He and Xhaka seem to work really well as a midfield partnership and also managed to get man of the match.
Granit Xhaka – 7.5
Managed to get Arsenal’s first goal although it did take a wild deflection of a United player. Linked up the played from defence to attack well.
Kieran Gibbs – 7
Played well, worked well with Monreal down the left-hand side. When one went forward, the other stayed back.
Mesut Ozil – 7.5
Glided across the pitch for the full ninety minutes, was easily one of our best players.
Alexis Sanchez – 7
Looked threatening as always, managed to get two shots in and had an 80% pass success rate.
Danny Welbeck – 8
Great header for the goal, managed a 100% pass success rate and got 3 shots on target. I think he’s a much better option to have up top than Giroud, brings so much more to the game.
Francis Coquelin – 6
Olivier Giroud – 6
Hector Bellerin – 6
